Town to enforce two-hour parking rules this summer
Contributed by: Joseph Kirchmer/YourHub.com on 3/28/2007

The town has announced that it will begin enforcing two-hour parking restrictions in the downtown Castle Rock area this summer.

A new, part-time civilian officer with the Castle Rock Police Department will spend about the first month on the job issuing warnings to parking violators, according to the town.

The position should be filled in coming weeks, according to town personnel. Enforcement on the parking restrictions likely won't begin until May or June.

Community Relations Manager J.J. McCormack said the town decided to enforce the two-hour parking restrictions downtown because business owners in the area would like to see higher turnover in those parking spots.

The fine for violating the two-hour restrictionswill be $10, according to McCormack. Downtown parking maps will be available in coming weeks at downtown businesses as well as the town's Web site www.crgov.com
