An open letter to the citizens of Douglas County
Contributed by: Douglas County on 3/29/2007

March 29, 2007

The citizens of Douglas County deserve a hearty, "Thank you" from the Douglas County Public Works Road and Bridge crews.

In the aftermath of several precedent-setting snow storms, Douglas County posted an open request on our Web site, asking our citizens to help identify what we knew would be a growing number of potholes on our roadways and streets. Our goal is to repair the damage while the pothole is still small in order to minimize cost and citizen inconvenience.

Although Douglas County Road and Bridge staff continuously patrol streets looking for and repairing potholes, we were fortunate to receive citizen assistance with pothole notification. This exceptionally responsive assistance helped our crews locate and repair potholes quickly and efficiently.

Thus far, Douglas County crews have repaired more than 500 potholes throughout the County, several of which were identified by the helpful citizens of Douglas County.

We want to convey our gratitude and appreciation to the community for their outstanding assistance.

To report the location of a pothole by intersection or address, please call 303.660.7480 or use Douglas County's ExpressConnect system at www.douglas.co.us.

Sincerely,

Randy Teague
Road and Bridge Manager
Douglas County
Department of Public Works
