Three main thoroughfares in Castle Rock will see lane closures during late July as the roads are resurfaced as part of the town's 2008 Street Improvement Program.
Preliminary work, which will involve sealing cracks in the streets and patching potholes, will occur the week of July 21. Shifting lane closures will be required as that work is completed. Areas that will be affected are:
-- Black Feather Trail, from Front Street to Woodlands Boulevard
-- Mikelson Boulevard, from Ridge Road to Sovereign Street
-- Woodlands Boulevard, from State Highway 86 (Founders Parkway) to
Black Feather Trail
During the week of July 28, the three streets will be resurfaced with chip seal and then re-striped, which also will require shifting lane closures.
Electronic road signs will be placed along affected routes prior to the start of the chip sealing process to make motorists aware of the pending work. Drivers should follow all posted signs and flaggers' directions and use caution while in work areas.
All work on the roads is expected to be completed by early August.
The Street Improvement Program involves making repairs to extend the lives of the Town's streets. More information is available
by clicking here
.
Those impacted by the program are welcome to provide feedback on the process via a quick online survey. Go to
www.crgov.com
, click 2008 Street Improvement Projects in the left-side menu and follow a link to the survey to give your input. Those without Web access can call 720-733-2462 to request a paper copy of the survey.
Questions about the chip seal projects can be directed to Senior Public Works Inspector
Kevin Smith
, 720-733-2466 or ksmith@CRgov.com.
