Town of Castle Rock
on 5/5/2008
More than 700 people came out May 3 to celebrate the grand opening of Rhyolite Regional Park.
The park, located on the south end of Castle Rock off Crystal Valley Parkway, includes 40 acres of park land, 133 acres of open space and more than three miles of trails.
The 40-acre park site includes three picnic pavilions, a full-size synthetic playing field, playground structures and swings, restrooms and drinking fountains and a multi-use court for tennis, basketball and inline skating.
The work that's been completed thus far is the first phase of the park's construction. Plans call for the expansion of the 40-acre park site as population and funding sources grow, according to town officials.
The park is located at 1701 Crystal Valley Parkway in Castle Rock.
