Off-leash areas in Douglas County
Bayou Gulch Regional Park provides more than 2 acres of off-leash space on the east side Fox Sparrow Road. The dog park area is adjacent to 2.5 miles of soft surface trails that require dogs to be on leash as a courtesy to other trail users and wildlife. Take Colorado 83 south of Parker to Bayou Gulch Road, travel east 1 mile and turn north on Fox Sparrow Road. The dog park is on the right (east) side of the park.
Fairgrounds Regional Park, in downtown Castle Rock, has more than 2 acres in the eastern corner of the park for an off-leash area. From downtown Castle Rock take Wilcox Street to Plum Creek Parkway and turn east. Take a left at the third entry into Fairground Regional Park and turn right into the upper parking lot. The dog park may be accessed from the park’s main entrance; however the off-leash area is in the easternmost point of Fairgrounds Regional Park and dogs in other sections of the park must be leashed.
Glendale Farm Open Space has a 5-acre off-leash dog park. The dog park is adjacent to 1.6 miles of Glendale Trail, where dogs are required to be on a leash to protect the sensitive habitat of the area. From Interstate 25 south of Lone Tree, take Exit 190 – Surrey Ridge. Glendale Farm Open Space is on the east side of the highway. The dog park is southwest of the main trailhead and parking area.
Hound Hill at Highland Heritage Park is south of the Quebec/University/Lincoln intersection behind the Highlands Ranch Post Office. While dogs are not allowed on the grounds of Highland Heritage Park, Hound Hill users may park in the Highland Heritage parking lot to access the off-leash area.
Digger’s at Dad Clark Park is at 3385 Asterbrook Circle, west of Fairview Parkway and Summit View Parkway. Parking is available at Dad Clark Park.
Fido’s Field at Foothills Park is at 1042 Riddlewood Drive. To get to Foothills Park from Lucent Boulevard, turn south on Timbervale Trail to Riddlewood. It can also be accessed from Winterthur Way, west of Broadway. Parking is available at Foothills Park off Winterthur Way.
Rover’s Run at Redstone Park is east of Redstone Park, near the intersection of Town Center Drive and Foothills Canyon Boulevard. Parking is available at the Redstone Park Tennis Center.
David A. Lorenz Regional Park is managed by South Suburban Parks and Recreation at 8560 S. Colorado Blvd. Park access is from the south side of County Line Road at the intersection of Big Dry Creek Road.
Chatfield State Park has approximately 75 acres set aside as a dog off-leash area. The park also has two ponds within this acreage for your dog to cool off and play with friends. Access the dog park from the Stevens Grove parking lot, downstream from the dam.
