Castle Rock has first dog event at pool

Castle Rock, Colo. – The Town of Castle Rock Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the first annual dog event at Butterfield Pool called "Mac’s Splash".

The event will be held on Sept. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon and will allow dogs to swim in the Butterfield Pool. This event is free and sponsored by the Animal Care Center of Castle Rock and PETsMART.

"Castle Rock is thrilled to be hosting the 1st annual Mac’s Splash this year at Butterfield Pool and we hope to host many more dog, friendly events in the years to come," said Aquatics Supervisor Christina Flores.

Scheduled events throughout the morning will include demonstrations from PETsMART and Golden Touch Dog Training. Games will include Best Bark, Best Howler, Belly Flop, Go Fetch, Musical Sit, Owner/Dog Look-Alike Contest, "Stupid Pet Tricks", and a Costume Contest. Prizes will be given to all winners of the events and will include PETsMART gift cards, dog leashes, dog toys and chew treats. The Castle Rock Police Department will also be in attendance with Jax from the K-9 unit.
