Fireworks from Spruce Mountain Open Space
Contributed by: Michael Rule on 7/5/2007

We have been working up on Spruce Mtn. Open Space again recently.

Yesterday afternoon Susan and I went up to tag trees for removal as part of the wildfire fuel break we have been conducting. Afterwards we decided to watch the sunset and catch a view of the area's fireworks.

And what a view it was!

We could see Palmer Lake and the Air Force Academy's shows to the south, as well as some in Colorado Springs.

To the north were Perry Park's, Castle Rock's, Sedalia's, and even more way up by Littleton. Wow!

Here's a few photos.

We watched fireworks north of us - too cool to see Mother Nature getting in a lightning bolt or two! I was hoping a great photographer like you caught a few of those moments. Your photos are terrific!
