Last night Susan and Lucky and I hiked up to the top of the Castle Rock for the sunset.
Lucky's size (or lack thereof) came in handy as we were able to pass him up to each other while scrambling through the rocks near the top. It was both Susan and Lucky's first time to the top o' The Rock.
I have been wanting to photograph this view of "The Star" all winter, and with the lights set to go out after Sunday, well, we figured it was now or never!
The wind chill was down there, but the view, as always, was spectacular.
On the way down I took another photograph of the commute traffic coming down the hill from Happy Canyon heading south.
The photo of The Star was about a 4 second exposure, the view of the traffic lights was a 30 second exposure. I wasn't sure how my camera would handle the cold, but other than having to replace the battery half way through, I would have to say it handled the temperature and wind chill better than me!

Great Picture. Squint a little on picture #3 of Lucky and Susan and see them standing on a rock amid a foaming incoming tide with rocks all around! Cool!
