Lunar eclipse -- the dark side of the moon

In a beautiful display, seen only a couple of times per year at most, the moon was shadowed by the earth on Aug. 28 for about three hours.

The glow of red is the area which was shadowed. This display was seen all across N America but was particularly visible in the Western US skies.
