The Castle Rock farmers' market was bustling July 12 as flocks of area residents came to stock up on fresh produce, sample homemade salsa and even pick up a dog treat or two.
One of the highlights was a display of 20 pieces of artwork set up by the Greater Castle Rock Art Guild. The guild plans to feature eight works by local artists on lamp post banners in downtown Castle Rock, and the public is invited to vote for their favorites.
Starting July 25, the public can view the exhibit and vote for their favorite two pieces at the Philip S. Miller Library, 100 S. Wilcox St. The exhibit will move back to the farmers' market on July 26 for another day of voting. Winners will be announced in August.
Four of the eight pieces selected will go on banners downtown the week of Labor Day, and the other four pieces will be featured in the spring.
For more information, e-mail
kmcgrath@crgov.com
or call 303-660-1365.
The farmers' market runs from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Oct. 4 on
Second Street between Wilcox and Perry streets.
