Warm Hearts-Warm Babies would like to thank both the Rocky Mountain News for publishing our story in many of their local
YourHub.com papers and to the readers interested in helping the premature and newborn babies of Colorado.
Many of the people contacting us have requested more information on our organization. Warm Hearts-Warm Babies is a nonprofit organization that donates newborn layettes, premature clothing, burial outfits, stuffed animals and quilts to hospitals and other agencies throughout Colorado. All of our items are made by volunteers or purchased with donated funds. We have no paid staff.
Warm Hearts-Warm Babies always needs the following items donated:
-Satin Fabrics for burial outfits (white, light blue, light pink, light green)-1 yard can be made into a burial outfit including hat and booties.
-Cotton knit fabric-1 yard can make 9 premature undershirts, 5 premature sleepers or 7 newborn undershirts
-Flannel for receiving blankets, burp cloths, and bibs
-Cotton fabric with baby prints for quilts, IV shirts, rompers, and dresses
-Baby yarn
-Diapers in all sizes
-Batting and Polyfil
-New and gently used clothes in sizes 0-4T
-Monetary gifts
-Other fabric that can be used for baby clothing
Volunteers are needed to:
-Sew clothing or quilts
-Crochet or knit clothing or blankets
-Stuff positioning devices or stuffed animals
-Cut fabric
-Act as Work Group Coordinators
Groups are needed to:
-Tie quilts
-Hold diaper drives, baby showers or penny drives
-Host sewing, crocheting or knitting groups
