The ultimate Rockies family!
Contributed by: James DeLay on 4/3/2008

Our Family LOVES the Rockies! That is why a suite for our family and friends would be a great reward.

In my childhood, I was a Washington Senators fan and have cherished memories of going to games at RFK Stadium. When we moved to Denver in 1972, I became a Bears and Zephyrs fan.

My wife Patti and I got married in Castle Rock 26 years ago. On the 2nd day of our honeymoon, I took my wife to her first major league baseball game in Kansas City which was the closest baseball team at the time. She was hooked.

We have 3 great daughters that all played softball in Highlands Ranch as they were growing up. Our middle daughter Jenni actually was born immediatley after a exhibition game at Mile High between the Cubs and the Seattle Mariners on April 6th, 1985. My wife was in labor pains throughtout the game and we went directly to Rose Hospital and she was born 2 hours later. We continue to celebrate her birthday by going to Rockies games. I'm sure her sisters Shannon and Lauren would spend their birthdays at the ballpark but hey were born in November and December.

Of course, we were there in 1993 at MIle High Stadium for the opening Rockies game and have been Rockies Fanatics ever since. A job transfer took us to upstate New York for 2 years but never lost the passion for the Rockies. We got to see the Rockies play the Pirates (a 6 hour drive) at the old Three Rivers Stadium.

It was a special day and we got on TV in Denver because we were the only ones decked out in Rockies Gear. We visited Cooperstown, again all decked out as Rockies fans.

After moving back to Denver in 1995, we have been loyal and dedicated fans. We love especially going to games on opening day, Mothers Day and Fathers Day (and of course, Jenni's Birthday).

We have seen the Rockies in Seattle and Chicago, again, all decked out where everyone knew we were Rockies Fanatics. (They weren't too nice to us in Seattle). One of my "Bucket List" goals is to go to every Baseball Park and try to see as many with the Rockies.

Then last season became a dream!! I was able to hit all of the playoff games with the highlight being the National Leaque Championship Game where we were all together in the right field seats to soak in the celebration of going to our first World Series! Our Christmas card picture was our family with Coors Field in the background (Attached). What a celebration it was.

We will continue to be Rockies Fanatics throughout our lives no matter how they fare because we are a "Rockies Family!!"
