Perry Park, natural and historic splendor
Contributed by: Barbara Neff on 1/3/2006

I am amazed at just about every turn in Douglas County roads by breathtaking beauty. Today I had the opportunity to visit for the first time Perry Park Country Club.  Stunning natural scenery along Perry Park Boulevard commands rapt attention. The idyllic setting of and around the old country club surpasses most postcards.  The backdrop for the old Manor House, which was built in 1891 and now houses the pro shop and restaurants, consists of LakeWauconda and rock formations fit for a national park. Though the club is private, the staff there were eager to show my sons and me around the old place and share its history.  I felt as if we were being treated to a delicious royal secret.  Well worth the short trip to Larkspur for a look-see.  For more information access Perry Park Country Club web site at www.perryparkcc.com.
