E-Rock Ride renowned
Contributed by: wayne galvani on 6/5/2007

This past Sunday saw me, along with approximately 7000 other cyclists, pedaling over the rolling hills of Douglas and El Paso counties in the annual Elephant Rock Bike Ride.

Having recently moved to this beautiful state and just starting to enjoy the roads and byways that make for one of the most challenging areas in which to pedal, the E-Rock was an event that I felt compelled to partake.

Although there were at times traffic jams that can't be helped when that many cyclists are on the road at once, I just wanted to compliment the staff and those responsible for conducting this event.

The ride was extremely well organized and all the volunteers with which I had contact were cheerful, helpful and seemed to be having as much fun as the cyclists. Co-ordinating an event of this magnitude is no easy task, and obviously those responsible have got it down to a science.

Thanks to everyone involved in making sure that this event continues to be the success that it has obviously become. The positive experience that I had will ensure that I'll be back next year, and maybe do a little better on the time!

Thanks again for providing a great ride with which to enjoy this great area!
