Why Colorado GOP Should Support McCain Tuesday

I was mad. You were mad. Americans were mad. Last summer, I, like many Colorado Republicans, was mad at Arizona Senator John McCain because of his position on the important issue of Immigration. His attempt to work with Teddy Kennedy made me made enough to turn my back on his Presidential campaign. I started looking closer at former Massacheussetts Governor Mitt Romney. However, I've changed my mind and have done a 180 turn, and I'm committing to support McCain. Why the change?
I have asked myself three important questions:
1) What is going to be the most important issuethe next President will be facing?
2) What type of CHANGEare the MAJORITY of Americans looking for in the Office of the President?
3) Is it more important that (A) the most conservative Republican be the GOP candidate or (B) that the Democratic candidate looses?
1: While the American media and the public may all be about "what is today's headline", I looked back one year and saw how both the liberal media and the Democratic politicians were screaming about Iraq and the "false" war on Terror. Today, we have found out that the recent bump in the issue of the economy is just that - as the recent numbers on durable goods is clear evidence that no recession is in sight. There can be no doubt: The war on terrorism and Iraq are the Number One issue. With Guilliani out of the race after his dismissal, there can no doubt that only Senator McCain has the experience and capacity to be our Commander in Chief. American needs Victory in Iraq. America needsOffense Against Terrorists. American needs a true Commander.
2: Is the recent phenomenon of "Change" about change for change's sake. I say no. Just as America wanted a President they could trust after Richard Nixon, resulting in the election of the otherwise incompetent Jimmy Cater, I believe that America wants a President who will speak the hard truth and do the right thing. America wants Straight Talk. American wants progress towards solutions, not stagnation from polarization. America wants unification as Americans, not division of Reds/Blues from stubborn alliances to extremes. Senator McCain is a true war hero who speaks the hard truth, uplifts Americans, and yes - will be able to be an effective leader across the political spectrum.
3: I believe the possibility of a Clinton II administration or an Obama adminstration would be disasterous to the most important issue of the war on terrorism and Iraq. I believe either would act to imprudentally pull out all American troops, resulting in a scene similar to the American pullout from Saigon, South Vietnam. I believe the Hillary/Bill tag-team would result in the most divisive America possible. I believe Barrack is simply too inexperienced in foreign relations and obtaining any major legislation through his own leadership to be effective. Change to an idealistic charismatic speaker does not give much assurrance for an effective Presidency at such a critical time. At the end of the day, I much more concerned that neither the Clintons or Obama reach the Presidency as compared to insisting that the Republican GOP candidate be perfect.
Senator McCain has changed his position on Immigration, and I believe that his conversion on this issue is true and steadfast. I am simply not willing to let my anger over a couple of different issues turn me into a stubborn conservative that will allow the moderate and independant voters to hand the Presidency to the Democrats. Senator John McCain is a honorable Republican, and he has the best opportunity to obtain the support of the large Independant and moderate voters in November.
I am suppporting Senator John McCain as the Republican Candidate for the President of the United States. I encourage all Colorado Republicans to do the same. I ask those supporters of Rudy Guilliani to follow their candidates's endorsement of McCain. Represenatives Mike May & Frank McNulty & Senator Ted Harvey - I ask you to join me and support John McCain next Tuesday.
John McCain is an American war hero.
John McCain can lead ALL of America in the right direction.
John McCain can defeat Hillary or OBama.

This is great rhetoric, but look at the voting record of Ron Paul. He actual was proactive to the issues that you state, not just reactive. It's time to revisit the principles on which this country was founded. I encourage supporting Ron Paul in the Republican Caucus, or vote "None of the above"
