Come one, come all and enjoy the Fourth Annual
Romancing the Arts reception on February 15 from 6-8:30 at the Philip S. Miller Library. This exhibit is sponsored by the
Greater Castle Rock Art Guild
The photographs of the art that accompany this article do not do the originals justice. Come and see them with your own eyes and enjoy and evening out in downtown Castle Rock. There are 70 pieces exhibited from 45 different area artists. The awards ceremony will be at 7:15.
The Judges are International Artist/Instructor, Mariela Villasmil-Kaminski, BFA, MA of Loveland and Professor Emeritus of Adams State College, Cloyde Snook, of Castle Rock. Nadine Partridge of Partridge Place Gallery & Gifts is Exhibit Chairman.
The Jury Panel was made up of Pat Joseph of Joseph's Art Work, Colette Brooks, painter and graduate of the Colorado Institute of Arts, Nadine Partridge, Bronze Sculptor and owner of Partridge Place Gallery & Gifts, and Patti Handby, the Philip S. Miller Library, Meeting Room Coordinator.
There are cash awards and ribbons for Best of Show - $500.00, First Place - $300.00, Second Place - $150.00, Third Place - $50.00, Two Honorable Mention Ribbons and Two People's Choice Ribbons.
Georgia O'Keeffe said "Nobody sees a flower; really. It is so small. We haven't time, and to see takes time, like to have a friend takes time." I think you will be pleased if you take the time to come this Friday and really "see" this beautiful art exhibit. I hope you will join us at the Philip S. Miller Library.
