As I thumbed through the paper, looking at the outrageous prices of tickets and all hoopla, I couldn't help wanting a piece of the action. But for us - the Broncos are a lifestyle. Life halts during games, 4 hours vanish week after week. And no one is a bigger fan than my 2 year old. Not only does she call Colorado 'Bronco Country', but she knows the catch phrase -"IT'S FOOTBALL TIME!" She's the only child I know who would rather watch football than Barney.
"Line up BOYS," she says. "There's the snap, run, run, run, run TACKLE!" she yells - flattening her little brother. (Even when their is no game on) Washing her Davis and Plummer jersey over night is a chore -but necessary - so she's not wearing the same smelly shirt every day.
The Broncos are sure to win the AFC Championship. Why? Not only because they have shown team dedication, leadership, hard work, and determination...but also not to disappoint their littest fans who watch with longing eyes for them every weekend.
One more week of football, one more week of happiness and peace in the Roina household. And for that - I personally thank the team - from Jake to Rod and each grounds keeper in between.
