Douglas County tripped up in 5A playoffs
Contributed by: YourHub.com on 11/27/2006

CASTLE ROCK -- The Douglas County High School Huskies were tripped up by Dave Logan's Mullen High School Mustangs 41-38 Nov. 25 at Douglas County Stadium -- a game that many prep reporters and columnists are describing as an instant classic.

The Huskies sent the game into overtime with only 6 seconds left on the clock on an 8-yard pass from quarterback Keiffer Garton to wide receiver Andy Nappo. Douglas County, however, stalled on its first drive of overtime and were forced to kick a field goal.

Mullen wide receiver Devin Aguilar, the state's leading receiver, made the Huskies pay with a reverse that put the game away and propelled Mullen to the state championship for the third consecutive year. They will face Columbine High School Dec. 2 at Invesco Field at Mile High.
