Trains, pedicabs and automobiles
Contributed by: Julie Robinson on 9/21/2006

Free tickets to the Rockies game bought our family an enjoyable journey. We, My husband Mike, and I and our little Karen took the light rail up to Union Station which is just a short walk to Coors Field. There we ate hot dogs you could barely get your mouth around and sat next to yourhubbers from Highlands Ranch on one side and from Evergreen on the other. What I liked best was the music and the sweet beginning of Fall air.

The crowd seemed so much more subdued than the crowds I'm used to at the DCHS Huskies (State Champions and so far undefeated team) stadium where half the stands are students who never sit down - not for the entire game!

After the game, the pedicab ride back to Union Station was diverting with Bonnie Lynn, a pedicab driver , peddling us around in circles and in and out of trees to entertain our four year old Karen. It did. Bonnie said that she never has to work out. I was adding up how many pounds she was pulling just in our load. And, to think all those people coming from the stadium must weigh more than when they went in...now on that heavy note...(all who are reading this are at my mercy and I should apologize) we saw lots of restaurants that would be so fun to try, but not with a four year old.

The Rockies tickets were free, but we spent $32.00 on hot dogs, drinks and a kids meal at the stadium. And, the Light Rail ride was $11.00.
