Castle Rock [Change Location]

The Hawaii Zone

While most Castle Rock teens were "back to school" shopping, Jack Jenner and Marielle Renehan were over 3,000 miles away. They even missed the first day of their freshman year of high school. Jack and Marielle were part of an elite group of athletes that qualified to represent Colorado at the Western Zones Meet at the Veteran's Memorial Aquatic Center in Waipahu, Oahu.

Mike Novell, the head coach of Castle ROCK Swimming and Carmen Babcock, the head age group coach of No. Jeffco Swimming were the coaches for Team Colorado. Mike and Carmen are the Age Group Division Chairs for Colorado Swimming, the governing body of swimming in Colorado.

Marielle has already qualified for the next level meet, Sectionals, which will be held in Seattle in the spring. 4A State Champions, Rock Canyon High School Girls Swim team, graduated many of their top swimmers this past May but they have nothing to worry about this year with Marielle joining their ranks in November.

Jack attends Castle View High School, however the CV boys swim with Douglas County High. Keep your eye on this team this winter.
