CR Rockers triumph over CC Bombers

The CR Rockers 11AAA team coached by Jimmie Acosta fought the bitter cold Thursday night, April 17, to beat the CC Bombers 14 - 9 in extra innings.

Key hits from Zack Brenner, Jason Acosta, Matt Anderson, Ryan Connolly and a home run by Charles Sims helped push the team to victory. Veteran pitcher Trey Vann had a strong outing on the mound followed by Bryce Dietz and newcomer Alan Clemens.

Teammates Nate Whalen, Caleb Secrist and Matt Madril brought solid defense rounding out the squad. So what does coach Jimmie say to motivate this group of young impressionable athletes?

"Don't make the game boring."

The Rockers just returned from the GGYB Ice Breaker tournament in Colorado Springs where they qualified for a state playoff berth.
