Dolphin Silver falls to Dolphin Purple

With Mother Nature rearing her ugly head for much of the weekend, bringing cold temperatures and brutal wind gusts, the 9A Dolphin Silver baseball team was more than happy to see sunny skies and mild temperatures return for Sunday's game against Dolphin Purple.

Dolphin Silver faced Dolphin Purple twice during the weekend, losing both games, 14-10, and 7-3, respectively, but were encouraged by the strong hitting of Alec Byrne, Jacob Herbert, Ben Kozan, Tyler McLeod, and Jacob Nachand, and the heads-up plays by base-stealers Zane Bush, Alec Byrne, Reagan Clarke, Alec Greven, Jacob Herbert, Ben Kozan, Weston Miller, Tyler McLeod, and Jacob Nachand.

Third Baseman, Ben Kozan, seemed to be the player most inspired by Sunday's warmer weather, by coming through for his team with an awesome throw to First Baseman, Tyler McLeod, for an out to end the third inning, giving his team a chance to take control of the game.

Besides coming through with great defense, Kozan also contributed to Dolphin Silver's offense, starting off the hitting in the fourth inning with a deep shot to center field for a single. A subsequent walk advanced him to second, and within moments, Kozan had stolen third base.

When complimented on the great play by her son at the end of Sunday's game, Kozan's mom, Teresa Kozan, humbly commented on how fun it is to see different kids do well each game.

"They all need it (a good game)," Teresa Kozan surmised.

Dolphin Silver plays next on Saturday, May 3, at 1:00, at Douglas County Fairgrounds field 1, against Dolphin Black, and on Sunday, May 4, at 12:00 vs. Patriot Navy.

I'm confused! If Dolphins Purple won, why was the entire story about Dolphins Silver? Also, why isn't where Dolphins Purple play next week noted?
