Colorado will celebrate its 130 th birthday on August 1, 2006. To help commemorate this occasion, Colorado Proud is organizing a recipe contest open to all state residents. Colorado Proud, a program of the Colorado Department of Agriculture, helps promote food and agricultural products that are grown, raised or processed in the state.
- Develop a "Signature Dish" that represents the state.
- All primary ingredients must be grown or raised in the state (supplementary ingredients like seasonings and spices may be from outside Colorado). To search for Colorado products, visit
www.coloradoagriculture.com.
- Each recipe is limited to a maximum of 10 ingredients (not including salt, pepper and other spices).
- Recipe categories include: main entre, salad/soup, side dish and dessert.
- Entry divisions include: Professional or Student Chef and Home Cook (non professional).
- Submit complete recipe using official entry form (only typed entries will be accepted) including recipe title, list of ingredients and quantities, number of servings and clear instructions.
- Photograph of completed dish is encouraged, but not required (hard copy mailed or 300dpi .jpeg or .tiff e-mailed to
