Teamwork in Guatemala
Contributed by: Steve Baroch on 6/26/2007

Castle Rock High Noon Rotarian, Ana Ximenes recently took her Management Consulting team to Guatemala to work as a group on several different projects.

Ana, President of a division of "RLG International", assembled 18 other employees of RLG for a week long series of projects including leading Management Training Seminars in Spanish for some of the Non-Profit Organizations in Guatemala and building a water system and series of water filters for the village of El Gorreon.

The original village of El Gorreon was destroyed in a mud slide. The Guatemalan government provided the surviving citizens with a plot of land upon which they rebuilt. Ana's team also took on the task of providing paint, brushes and rollers to give the townspeople the tools to paint their own town.

69 homes and businesses were painted in the week RLG was there! In addition, the RLG Team helped provide medical attention to children in El Gorreon who had never seen doctors.

The RLG Team also brought in more than a half a ton of medical and school supplies, provided the first computer to the school of El Gorreon and raised more than $20,000 from private donors to be used to further help the town and some of the local non-profits!
