A Different View of a Familiar Canyon
Contributed by: Sharon West on 5/29/2008

What:

This hike will take you to the top of the canyon just west of the Homestead. The panorama looking north to Parker is awe inspiring. If you look closely you can see the Arapahoe Canal that was used to carry water down to Parker between 1890 and 1933. You may see a golden eagle or two flying overhead. It is almost assured that you will see turkey vultures and red-tailed hawks. Meet GOCO Interpreter Ron Claussen at the Homestead Parking Lot. The hike up the side of the canyon requires stamina, water and a snack. Please call 303-688-5242 to reserve your place on this hike.

When: 9 AM - 12::noon
