Author Eliza Cross will lead a free writing workshop for teens on the evening of Thursday, July 24 at Koelbel Library, 5955 S. Holly St. in Centennial from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To register, call the library at 303-792-8999. What do you want to write? Whether it's a story, song, rant, rap, poem, essay, journal entry, MySpace page, television script, magazine article, blog, play or book, we'll discuss how to get your thoughts and words on paper. We'll talk about what 'voice' is, how to write a compelling tale, how to turn your life experiences into stories, and possibilities for getting published. We'll also practice with some fun, informal writing exercises. Eliza Cross is a full-time freelance writer who has written three books and hundreds of articles for publications like The Denver Post, Parents, Adoptive Families and Writers' Digest.
