Rhonda Blanford-Green, assistant commissioner for the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA), will speak at the March 12 meeting of the DTC Business and Professional Women's Network (BPW). The meeting will begin at 11 a.m. and will be held at the Cool River Café, 8000 E. Belleview Ave. in Greenwood Village.
Blanford-Green is the first person of color to be hired in an administrative position in CHSAA's 75-year history. She is a former Colorado high school championship track athlete, and a 12-time All-American and NCAA Champion for the University of Nebraska. Blanford-Green once ranked first in the U.S. and eighth in the world in the 100-meter hurdles. She is an esteemed Sportswoman of Colorado Hall of Famer and Award winner.
"Rhonda has met with many road blocks in both her athletic and administrative career," explains Ruby Mayeda, DTC BPW president. "She will speak on the values and ethics of doing right even when the short term pay-off is so inviting-touching specifically on today's issue of steroid use."
