Mom/baby nurse does housecalls
Contributed by: Joan Hawley on 12/2/2007

Joan Hawley RN,after being a postpartum nurse for 15 years started a business
doing in-home visits for new mothers. She began the business "Mom's Assurance" after hearing many mothers express their desire to have a mom/baby
nurse come home with them!

During her visits, Joan performs a postpartum nursing assessment on both
mom and baby, and educates parents on the needs and care of their baby.

Joan assists the mother as she learns how to breast feed, and suggests ways
for her to bond with her baby. Joan also demonstrates to parents ways to soothe
their newborn when fussy.

Joan, creator of Mom's Assurance supports mothers emotionally during postpartum blues and helps them sort out real from imagined worries about their baby.

Her goal is to build confidence in new mothers by offering visits 1-2 hours in length for as many visits as the new mother wishes.

She also offers a Registered Dietician who provides online nutrition counseling and weight loss assistance for nursing and non-nursing mothers. Gift certificates are available for expectant fathers, friends, and family to give as gifts prior to the
baby's birth.

For more information on Mom's Assurance contact Joan at 720-318-5257.
