Restoring household sanity with KidsClean
Contributed by: Andrea Wilbur on 10/13/2008

Mom and dad, do any of the following sound familiar to you?

- Your child's version of cleaning his/her bedroom consists of cramming everything under the bed or in the closet.

- There is a strange odor emanating from your child's bedroom and no amount of air freshener seems to cure the issue.

- Your child's bedroom is nicknamed the "black hole."

Perhaps you believe the battle between parent and child to clean a room can't be won, but one area woman believes she has found a solution. Further, this clean room doesn't require that you hire a weekly maid service. KidsClean is a local business that teaches parents and caregivers how to get their child's room back in order and then helps them develop an approach to working with the child that will keep it that way.

KidsClean is the brainchild of Sally Douglass. She is a long time owner of a local residential cleaning business and holds a degree in early childhood education. It is her years of work in these fields that have inspired her strategies for getting and maintaining a clean kid's room. Her passion for teaching and the common embarrassment and frustration of her clients over their child's room lead her to develop her system. Most of her home cleaning clients would shut the door to their child's room and say "you don't have to do this room." She wants to help parents like these reclaim sanity and peace in their homes while teaching them how they can help their children learn responsibility for their belongings and keep their rooms clean.

Sally's workshops coach parents of toddlers (3 years or older) to teenagers. With a true passion for what she does, Sally loves to talk about KidsClean and the difference it makes for the parents and the relationship with their kids. Further through the approach Sally teaches parents, kids learn responsibility, accountability and in the process, feel better about themselves too. A recent participant in one of her workshop said, "finally someone has helped me teach my kids to keep their rooms clean every day and it is so easy on me!"

Workshops are scheduled in the evenings throughout the Denver metro area. Visit KidsClean.biz for a calendar of class times, locations, and further workshop information. Additionally, while you are there, you can sign up for Sally's free e-zine with additional tips for tackling your child's room. She is currently offering a workshop discount for those who register to receive this resource.

If you're a parent or caregiver who is nearing the end of his or her patience concerning a child's room, it's not time for another argument with your child, but a trip to one of Sally's KidsClean workshops. The workshop's small class size means that you will receive personalized attention and guidance on your particular situation. Let Sally and KidsClean teach you a simple and straightforward approach to a clean child's room.
