Twenty-nine area high school marching bands will perform in Castle Rock on October 1 at the Douglas County football stadium. This annual marching band festival, the Friendship Cup, will be co-hosted this year by Ponderosa High School and the Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. Preliminary competition will run from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. The top twelve scoring bands will perform in finals competition from 7-10 pm. Ponderosa High School will perform in exhibition at 10 pm. Admission is $6 for prelims and $8 for finals or $12 for both. Seniors and students will receive $1 discount. The stadium is located at 2842 Front St. in Castle Rock just east of I-25 and south of Exit 184 from I-25.
