Dynamic Duo Selected As Students of the Month

The Denver Tech Center Rotary Club has named Miranda Brents and Angela Kumagai, Interact Students of the Month for November and December. Both are students at Denver's Thomas Jefferson High School. The Denver Tech Center Rotary Club of Englewood sponsors the club.

Mirandais secretary of the Interact Club this year. In addition, she is vice president of Thomas Jefferson's DECA chapter and is hard at work with fundraising for the Heifer Project, the club's current philanthropy.

In her first year as an Interact member, Angela serves as public relations chairman for the club. She is a senior who plans a law career. Angela is travel coordinator for the DECA team and has gone to the state competition twice. She is senior class vice president and has played field hockey for four years. Outside of Thomas Jefferson she is involved in the Japanese American Citizens League.

Interact is a service club for young people ages 14-18 created in 1962 by Rotary International and established in more than 100 countries. The clubs are self-governing and self-supporting giving Interactors a chance to develop leadership skills while learning the value of good teamwork. DTC Rotary sponsors for the Thomas Jefferson club are Sherry Hanson, Rob Packard and Dana Arell. Danny Showers is the Interact Club's advisor.
