The Thomas Jefferson High School Interact Club ended the school year with the successful completion of their most ambitious project ever - raising $5,000 to buy an Ark for the Heifer Project. The Heifer Project helps people around the world obtain a sustainable source of food and income.
By selling candy, holding a silent auction and soliciting donations from other Interact Clubs, friends and family, the Interactors gave an extraordinary gift and an opportunity to change the world. The gift of an Ark means that oxen, donkeys, water buffalo, cows, sheep, goats, bees, chicks, rabbits and geese will be sent to families and children around the world to breed and sell and improve their lives.
Denver Tech Center Rotary Club President
Bob Steiert told the Interactors at their final meeting of the year, "Your unselfish gift sowed a seed that will help many families in different parts of the world. The Denver Tech Center Rotary Foundation boosted Interact's fund raising efforts with a $1000 gift and contributions from Rotary Club members helped put the drive over the top.
