The Denver Tech Center Rotary Club has named Michael M. Davis II and Nicole Bowman Students of the Month for October and November. Both students attend Thomas Jefferson High School and are members of the TJ Interact Club which the Denver Tech Center Rotary Club sponsors.

Michael, a junior, is president of the Interact Club. In addition to Interact, Michael is active in DECA, for which he was also named Student of the Month. Michael recently received the Mountain Award from the African American Leadership Institute. He is president of his church youth choir and has volunteered at the Denver Tech Center Rotary fundraising auction for two years, helping to raise over $50,000 for local and international projects in the Dominican Republic and Africa. Michael enjoys playing the piano, listening to gospel and Motown music and studying the Bible. His future goals are to enter the field of computer technology and business administration and continue with music.

Nicole is a senior at TJ and an active member of the Interact Club. She enjoys singing, playing the flute and babysitting. She is currently trying to teach herself how to play the piano and would like to record her own CD. She plans to attend college in state and wants to major in pre-med, nursing musical performance or culinary arts.

Both students will be eligible to apply for two $2,000 scholarships offered to members of the TJ Interact Club and funded by the annual auction.

Interact is a service club for young people ages 14-18 created in 1962 by Rotary International and established in more than 100 countries. The clubs are self-governing and self-supporting giving Interactors a chance to develop leadership skills while learning the value of good teamwork. DTC Rotary sponsors for the Thomas Jefferson club are Sherry Hanson, Rob Packard and Dana Arell. Danny Showers is the Interact Club's advisor.
