MASSAGE ENVY® RAISES NEARLY $50,000 FOR SUSAN G. KOMEN FOR THE CURE® DURING SECOND ANNUAL MASSAGE FOR THE CURE EVENT

Funds Raised Surpassed That of Last Year's Inaugural Event

Massage Envy, a nationally franchised massage company focused on providing professional, convenient and affordable massage therapy services, announced today that the Front Range's second annual day-long fundraising event to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, entitled, "Massage for the Cure," raised nearly $50,000.

On Monday, June 9, 2008, all 15 Front Range-area Massage Envy clinics, offered complimentary one-hour therapeutic massages in partnership with both the Komen Denver Metropolitan Affiliate and Colorado Springs Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Donations of any amount were suggested in exchange for a massage, and all proceeds raised during the Massage for the Cure event directly benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure initiatives.

A total of $46,828.98 was raised, with $41,257.73 distributed to the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, which was generated from 13 of the Massage Envy locations. An additional $5,571.25 was donated to the Colorado Springs Affiliate, raised from two clinics there.

The event was widely attended with nearly 1,500 massages performed across all 15 Front Range Massage Envy locations by approximately 400 therapists.
The check was recently presented to Michele Ostrander, Executive Director of the Denver Metropolitan Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure® at Massage Envy's Cherry Creek North clinic at 201 Steele Street. All funds raised will be used to support breast health and the Komen for the Cure's mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures.

"Our second annual event proved that the Front Range community is totally committed to supporting this important cause. We were pleased to surpass last year's results by about $10,000 showing the concern for breast cancer. The response from the entire community was remarkable, and we are very appreciative of the outpouring of support," said Larry Reiff, regional franchise developer for Massage Envy in Colorado.

"We look forward to continuing to host this important fundraising event annually as we work closely with Susan G. Komen for the Cure® in the quest to combat breast cancer," Reiff stated.

Ostrander added: "We are honored by the outpouring of contributions and concern from this community and also deeply value Massage Envy's dedication to our organization. Because of the exceptional efforts exhibited by the entire Massage Envy team - at both at the clinic and corporate levels - the Komen Denver Metropolitan Affiliate will be able to provide grants for education, screening and treatment for uninsured and under-insured women and men across the 12-county area we service."

During the past three years, the Massage for the Cure event has become a national fundraising effort. In 2008, in addition to the Denver/Colorado Springs event, 10 other Massage for the Cure events are being held throughout the country including those in Atlanta; Chicago; St. Louis/Columbia, Mo.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Phoenix/Tucson/Flagstaff, Ariz.; Miami; Houston; Seattle/Tacoma; New Jersey (statewide); and North Carolina (statewide). Massage Envy helped raised more than $500,000 from 2005 to date to benefit this vital cause through these various Massage for the Cure events. At a minimum, Massage Envy committed to a donation of $250,000 from its assorted 2008 Massage for the Cure events.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, an estimated 182,460 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the U.S. during 2008. An estimated 40,480 women will die from breast cancer this year. It is estimated that 1,990 men will be diagnosed and 450 men will die of breast cancer during 2008.
