Learn to save lives from experienced firefighters and emergency medical technicians. As a part of its Employee Health and Safety Training programs, the Corporate Learning Division of Arapahoe Community College will offer CPR and First Aid classes taught by firefighters and EMTs in July. CPR and first aid techniques are easy to learn and vital to maintaining safety, objectivity and professionalism under stressful circumstances.
In July, the Corporate Learning Division will offer five Heartsaver courses: CPR and First Aid combined, CPR, AED, First Aid and Pediatric First Aid. An American Heart Association Certificate will be issued for all classes. The combined CPR and First Aid course costs $100 per person, and the others cost $50 per person.All courses will be offered at the University Center at Chaparral, 15653 Brookstone Dr., in Parker. A volume discount plan is available.
The combined Heartsaver CPR and First Aid courses teach CPR, relief of choking in adults, children and infants and the use of barrier devices for all ages. It teaches how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives and covers medical emergencies and injury emergencies. It will be offered Wednesday, July 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, July 18, from8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The
Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course teaches how to manage illness and injuries in a child in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Topics include first aid basics and medical, injury and environmental emergencies. It will be offered on Thursday, July 31, from 8:30 a.m. to12:30 p.m.
