Creek, Cherry Creek--Class of 007 Graduation
On 5/25/2007
Contributed by: Kelly Viseur on 5/26/2007

Cherry Creek High School graduated 850 seniors on Friday, May 25th on a glorious Colorado morning filled with sunshine, pomp and circumstance, smiles and tears.

The opening orchestra's number was from a James Bond's 007 movie and 007 puns were many. All of the music was performed by seniors including "The Star Spangled Banner, "In My LIfe," "Hard to say Goodbye", "Be Remembered," "Change in My Life," and "Chicago." Besides being remembered as the "007" class, this class is the first class to attend four years of high school while our country is at war,the first time since Viet Nam.

Speaker Juliet Mamie Simbo, a graduating CCHS senior from Sierra Leone, compared her new life in Colorado to her life in Sierra Leone using poignant references and also humor. In a remarkable show of organization and professionalism, Creek graduated all 850 students, with numerous musical numbers and speeches, in less than 2 hours. A fabulous, memorable morning for the Cherry Creek community.
