An artistic affair at Koelbel Library
Contributed by: Michelle Cingrani on 5/14/2008

From May 1-31, the Joan R. Duncan Galleries of the Koelbel Library, a branch of the Arapahoe Library District, 5955 S. Holly Street (corner of Holly and Orchard), Centennial, will feature an exhibit of oil paintings by Littleton resident Arthur Knebel entitled "A Painter's Song." Knebel's collection represents varied encounters in his life, and diversity of the paintings' subject matter is a result of his training as a classical musician. Although a professional violist for more than 30 years in major orchestras, Knebel took time to attend the Kansas City Art Institute to pursue his interest in fine art. He has exhibited at numerous national juried shows, and, now retired, is devoted to painting full time.

The gallery is free and open to the public during regular hours. Koelbel Library's hours are Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. For information, call 303-220-7704.

Koelbel Library is one of nine libraries operated by the Arapahoe Library District (ALD). The ALD is a public library system serving more than 200,000 residents living in Arapahoe County, Colorado. For more information, visit their Web site at www.arapahoelibraries.org.
