Boy shot at Goodson Rec Ctr. in alleged drug deal

On February 15, 2009, at about 10:45 P.M., the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office responded to a local medical center on the report of a male with a gun shot wound.

The victim, a juvenile male, told Deputies he and friends had prearranged to deliver drugs to an individual at the Goodson Recreation Center, 6315 South University Boulevard. As they exited their vehicle he was confronted by two males with bandanas covering their faces. One of the males pointed a hand gun at him, demanded drugs and money, and then shot him. The suspects fled the area on foot, and the victim's friend drove him to the hospital. The victim's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

On February 16, 2009, at about 1:00 P.M., the Arapahoe Rescue Patrol was activated to search the area for physical evidence. The Arapahoe Rescue Patrol located a hand gun in the front yard of a residence along South University Boulevard.

The investigation is currently ongoing. Additional information will be provided as available.
