The League of Women Voters of Arapahoe County and the Arapahoe Library District invite you to an evening with acclaimed author, T. R. Reid and the screening of 'Sick Around The World,' Monday, Nov. 23 from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at Koelbel Public Library, 5955 S. Holly, Centennial.
The evening will begin with the film, 'Sick Around The World,' followed by a conversation with the author, including an audience question and answer session. The film, a documentary produced by Reid with the PBS FRONTLINE series, illustrates how five capitalist democracies - Japan, Germany, the United Kingdom, Taiwan, and Switzerland - deliver health care services and what the United States might learn from their successes and failures.
Reid's books, including his recent New York Times best seller, The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper, and Fairer Health Care, will also be available for sale and book signing. A nationally known author of 10 books, Reid, a former veteran foreign correspondent for the Washington Post and commentator for National Public Radio, has been featured on TV and in other media sources for his world-wide search for solutions to fix his "bum" shoulder, and for his insightful analysis of our current health care problems as it pertains to other countries.
The evening's schedule:
6-7 pm: "Sick Around The World" screening
6-7 pm: Book sale and signing in the lobby for those who don't want to watch themovie.
7-8 pm: Conversation with Reid
