Sheriff Office accreditation comment invited


The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is scheduled for an on-site assessment as part of a program to achieve accreditation by verifying it meets professional law enforcement standards.

Administered by the Commission on Accreditation for LawEnforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), the accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations andsupport services.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments at a public information session on Monday August 24, at 7 p.m. The session will be conducted in the Community Room of the Sheriff's Office Headquarters located at 13101 East BroncosParkway, Centennial, Colorado.

Agency employees and the public are also invited to offer comments by calling 720- 874-3911 on Sunday Aug. 23, between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m.
Comments will be taken directly by the Assessment Team. Telephone comments as well as appearances at the publicinformation session are limited to ten minutes and must addressthe agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards.
