At about 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday evening, a pickup truck plowed into the west side of the Centennial Civic Center building after hitting another vehicle at Revere Pkwy and Arapahoe Rd. The pickup traveled east about 200 yards across an open field leading up to the building and plowed into offices on the first floor at about 40 miles an hour, all the way into the building. The driver was taken to Swedish Hospital. There is no information available on the driver.

City Staff in the building were evacuated. The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office and South Metro Fire Rescue were on the scene. The pickup was removed and the hole in the outside wall was boarded up.

There is water damage in the offices on the first floor and extensive damage on the lower level housing the Municipal Court and City Council Chambers.
