Late summer at Summit Lake
Contributed by: Steve Johnson on 9/18/2007

I have lived in Denver all my life and I finally took the Mount Evans Road up to the Summit. I can't believe that I have never done this before. The scenery is spectactular. I really love Summit Lake. I saw a herd of mountain goats near the top and herd of mountain sheep near Summit Lake.

On the way down I stopped at the Goliath Nature area and marveled at the Bristlecone Pines. Some of the pines in the area are over 1600 years old. The photos I've displayed were taken with a Nikon SLR D80 Digital Camera. I have a web site dedicated to my Photography. It can be found at www.stevej46photography.com

I'll be shooting fall pictures of the Golden Aspen over the next few weeks. All these and more will be added to my web site soon.
