A rock fish?
Contributed by: Barry Stevens on 12/16/2007

A few years ago I was fishing on the San Miguel river when I spotted an odd looking rock in the river. Since it kind of looked like a fish I slipped it in my creel with the fish I had caught.

When I got back to the car a friend looked puzzled as I pulled the rock out. "What is that he asked." My Rock Fish I stated and put up my gear. A few days later I was volunteering outside the Museum and I decided to take my "fish" in to have it looked at. Before long I was told that it was an Indian Deer Skinning/ Corn grinding Stone from the Anastazi era circ. 1100ad.

I have it mounted on my "Fishing " wall.
