Fifteen years ago I met my husband. He is a warm, wonderful, funny, and incrediably smart man however he was born missing the male sports gene. Accomplishing anything that involved some type of ball was beyond him. Oh, he tried, but books and friends always won over playing any sport-like game.
When we first started dating, he tried to do the sporty things. He even climbed Mt Evans for me! (However, he quickly vowed he would never do that again because his head felt like a Weeble.) No matter what he tried, it wasn't his thing. Well, we fell in love, got married, bought a house, and had a son. It was about this time we decided that it made sense to change careers. Books scattered around as well as parts of term papers became common. Through these years of more school and the time it took to land a job, I worked full time to support our family. Finally I'm able to enjoy summers off (I work part time at school during most of the year), and better yet, our son does have some of that sports gene and he likes sports. Now I can enjoy games with our son.
Now comes the part with 11 of our best friends. We have been blessed with incredible friends. We have stuck together and celebrated the "great" in life as well as the toughest life can offer. Truely, our greatest gift in life, outside of what God has done, is people. I would love to take these people to a baseball game. My husband, can enjoy not playing, while relaxing, laughing, and soaking up time time with friends and family while watching our Rockies play.
