Marriage to a deserving fan
Contributed by: Laura Thomson on 4/14/2008

I feel as though I grew up on the Rockies even though they are relatively new to Colorado.I had an uncle who was an umpire with the Denver Bears, a dad who played softball and a brother who played baseball. When my husband and I first got together, I feigned ignorance of baseball so that I wouldn't have to watch it all the time. Now, it's a great marriage strengthener.

Once I admitted my knowledge of the game, it became a big part of our lives. I get great kudos when my husband walks in the house and the TV is already playing his "beloved" Rockies. Probably one of my husband's favorite gifts was a ticket to the original opening day, which stands to this day in it's plastic case in a prominate place in our home. I would love to be able to give my husband the gift of going to a Rockies game in style. He deserves it more than anyone I know; he has been a loyal fan since day one and has never waivered in his support no matter what the outcome or record.

It doesn't matter what is going on in our lives, if the Rockies are playing, he's watching and/or listening. Please help me make a deserving fan an even happier one!
