Tom, you didn't get to read the whole story of The Chronicle of the Box, Part II, because everything I wrote after as far as you read, was labeled "please refrain from using explicit language." What utter stupid nonsense. I never use profanity, obscenity, foul language of any kind. I believe these people at your hub expect writing to be aimed at 5 year old children. If I wrote, (as an example) the police found a dead woman in a wrecked car, it would be considered explicit language. The really bad part about it, I couldn't even print it to save.
They erased it. It's gone...forever. What total stupid arrogance. If I didn't enjoy writing essays on international affairs and politics so much, I would kiss these jerks goodbye.
To answer your question about the copper sheathing, it was not common practice to sheath new construction in copper, because of the expense. Shipowners in England, at the time, were concerned, as all business owners are, with the bottom line, and any costs that would decrease profits, were weighed very carefully, and frequently were not spent. Since the Charles Martel was covered by marine insurance, the owners deemed it cheap at that time to sheath the hull in copper.
The ending of Part II is truly spellbinding, and I wish these people would publish it, but I doubt it.
I just st.arted another story, Tom, about B-24 bomber crews in Italy. These fools at the hub are going to erase most of it because of some mildly salty language used by Americans at war. I can't stand much more of this. Are these the journalists you are constantly yelling at for being liberal? If so, you have more of a point than I ever thought

Hi Carl, Hurray, we will survive in spite of the B-----ds! I am posting another "Copy and Paste", D. Tebbe will be upset ---- again. Did you watch Murtha on "Meet The Press" today? I gave him a zero in rating, but I gave General George Casey" a TEN rating on their respective interviews by Tim Russert.
