UNDERAGE DRINKERS CITED
At about 11 p.m. Aug. 1, Cherry Hills police officers responded to a noise complaint on the 900 block of East Bellview Avenue. According to reports, the officers heard loud music and saw beer bottles thrown all over the yard. Officers issued a 19-year-old Centennial man, a 20-year-old Englewood woman and a 19-year-old Parker man summonses for illegal consumption of alcohol. Additionally, a summons was issued to a 19-year-old Cherry Hills Village man for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal consumption of alcohol.
HOUSE RANSACKED
Cherry Hills Village police were dispatched to the 2500 block of Cherryridge Road at 2:56 p.m. July 2. According to reports, a woman told police she returned home to find her house had been ransacked. Officers checked the house and found no one inside, police said. The home sustained damage resulting from forced entry and the homeowner has identified missing personal property.
GAS SEEPS INTO HOME
Cherry Hills police responded to a report of a strange odor at a home on Cherry Hills Farm Drive at 8:38 a.m. Aug. 25. According to reports, South Metro Fire and Cherry Hills police evacuated five family members from the home who said they were experiencing nausea and headaches. Two members of South Metro Fire also experienced the same symptoms, according to reports. South Metro Fire determined that there were extremely high levels of carbon monoxide in the home, reports said. Officials discovered that a car had been left running in the garage until it ran out of gas, causing the exhaust to seep into the house. Cherry Hills police determined the incident was an accident. The family and two of the firemen were taken to Swedish Hospital and released.
GOLF CART LANDS IN DITCH
Cherry Hills police officers responded to a report of a golf cart in a ditch at the end of Sandy Lake Lane on Sept. 7. When the officer arrived, two men were pushing the cart out of the ditch. The fence along the path above the ditch was damaged by the accident and the owner of the golf cart was issued a citation. The Cherry Hills Police Department would like to remind residents that vehicles categorized as "toy" vehicles - such as golf carts, mopeds and motorized skateboards and snowmobiles are not allowed on streets, sidewalks or bike paths.
WOMAN APPROACHED BY STRANGER
A woman told Cherry Hills police she was approached by a stranger while riding her bike near Blackmer Common Park at 6:15 p.m. Nov. 3. The man asked her if she was married and if she would have a drink with him. When she declined he became angry and followed her. The woman rode her bike to Quincy Avenue and the man gave up his pursuit.
