Police blotter: Numerous car break-ins reported

NUMEROUS CAR BREAK-INS REPORTED
Officers investigated seven reports of criminal mischief overnight on April 22, and another the same evening that wasn't reported until April 24. Police said the incidents occurred in the northeast village in an area bordered by South Colorado Boulevard, East Quincy Avenue, South Holly Street and East Mansfield Avenue. Cars were broken into by smashing rear windows and various items, including laptop computerS, clothing and cash were stolen. Police reminded home owners to park cars in the garage when possible and to never leave valuable items in unattended vehicles. Suspicious activity in a neighborhood can be reported by calling Arapahoe County Dispatch: the non-emergency number is 303-795-4711, or call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

HOME BURGLARY PROBED
Officers investigated a burglary reported about 11:28 a.m. April 23 at a residence on the 4700 block of South Franklin Street. The homeowner said they were away from the house for about two hours and discovered jewelry had been stolen when they returned. There were no signs of forced entry, according to the report.
