Several athletes who prepared for the draft with
Loren Landow
at the Velocity Sports Performance location in Centennial improved their position in the draft versus early projections by the prognosticators.
Former Grandview and CU Tight End
Joe Klopfenstein
who was chosen by the St. Louis
Rams
early in the 2 nd round/number 46 th overall pick was only the third TE taken in the draft. Prior to his stellar post season workouts where he ran an amazing 4.53 40 yard dash amongst his other impressive measurables, several analysts had him projected as the 5 th or 6 th rated TE and a projected 3 rd round prospect.
"Loren worked on my acceleration mechanics and agility which helped me move up in the draft and allowed me to pass some of other tight ends." Klopfenstein, said.
Other VSP Centennial athletes who moved up the draft board included
Chris Chester
(Oklahoma) who was taken ten spots after Klopfenstein by the Baltmore
Ravens
,
Chris Kuper
(North Dakota) who was selected by the
Broncos
with the 29 th pick in the 5 th round and
Domata Peko
(Michigan State) who may have moved up a full two rounds landing in the 4 th round as the 123 rd overall pick with Cincinnati.
"All of the guys were dedicated and worked very hard to improve themselves and I'm glad I could play a part in helping them to achieve their dream," Landow said.
Landow, Velocity Sports Performance director, has worked with 13 NFL All-Pros and has prepared over a 100 athletes for the NFL including many local players such as
Tyler Brayton
(Oakland
Raiders)
,
Dexter Wynn
(Philadelphia
Eagles
),
DJ Hackett
(Seattle
Seahawks
),
Bo Scaife
(Tennesee
Titans
),
Joel Dreesen
(New York
Jets
), and others.
