My son, Donovan Marshall, should be the honorary team captain for the Colorado Rapids.
He is a huge Rapids fan, although he is only five years old. The first word he uttered as a baby was "goal" and he knew how to kick a soccer ball before he could walk.
We have been to many Rapids games together and he cheers and yells for the team. He shouts "Go Rapids!" "Score a goal!" and even chants with the drummers and fans at the games "Colorado Rapids - boom, boom, boom, boom, boom!"
He knows many of the Rapids player's names. Donovan is the cutest five year old you could ever meet. He is a happy boy who loves life. He also loves the game of soccer and plays often with his mom, dad, and three year old brother Howie in our backyard.
In his first season ever playing four on four youth soccer, he netted three goals in each of his first two games. Donovan would be thrilled to walk out onto the pitch of the new Rapids stadium, Dicks Sporting Goods Park. His dad would also be honored to share in this special experience.
Sincerely,
Matt Marshall

well, Donovan won't be the captain for the Rapids home opener, but he did get third place and a free Rapids home jersey that he'll wear to all the games this year. Go Rapids!
